In 1992, the Stewarts quit their corporate jobs, packed up their 5-month-old son and moved into a small trailer on the property that is now the Mustard Seed Market. For more than three decades, the Stewart's have cultivated one of the finest destination garden centers on the east coast.

We offer a beautiful selection of unique plants, design services, and inspiration for gardeners and non-gardeners alike. We aim to carry the finest plant material in the High Country as well as embellishments for homes and gardens. We expend much effort and energy caring for and maintaining our quality plants and educating you, our valued customer, in the proper care for your ultimate gardening success!
